From the Peter Michael Winery in California, this wine is 53% cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot. Sir Peter is an Englishman who wanted to make great wine in California to challenge the great wines of Bordeaux - and succeeded. (petermichaelwinery.com). The L'Espirit des Pavots is the "little brother" of the flagship blend Les Pavots and was purchased direct from the vineyard. The palate is full-bodied, rich, concentrated and polished, exhibiting abundant firm tannins and a lingering finish. Fruit forward and enjoyable at the release, this wine should age for a decade or more. It was purchased direct from the grower and is not available on the island.
